[ Well! When he was asked to come with the Traveler to Dragonspine, he didn't think they'd actually be staying overnight. He would have brought a few more provisions. But, well, you know. Hindsight.

Well-- what a rude welcome from your brother, then. There are much better ways to admit that you'd like to see your sibling.

That's the thing, though. He abandoned me because he said that we had plenty of time to meet again. ... I've met a number of his servants, though. They haven't hesitated to try to eliminate me. This must be one of their traps.

He sounds confident in your ability to outsmart them.

Perhaps I have even less to worry about, now.

[ Trust Kaeya to be able to find humor in the situation. Then again, freaking out about it won't help either. ]

[ at least she seems reassured, and that elides any further questions he might be reluctant to answer--

though, it's a bit of a relief when the cavern widens in front of them. less so, when it widens so much, stretching on into darkness that all he can see are distant lines of light. that's discomfiting, but he wouldn't want to overreact. ]

Now, I wonder which way we were meant to go...

You'd think if they were going to take the exit away they could have at least had the decency to keep the path linear.
